Consumed in moderation and with a balanced diet, it helps prevent cardiovascular disease and also contains an appreciable amount of antioxidants, key controlling many related health problems, especially with aging.

There are many areas of the world where good wines are made, and among them, South Africa is an emerging area that stands out for the quality of its wines. It has 100,000 hectares of vines, being the seventh largest producer of wine.

The natural sweet wine is a wine with high sugar content, and comes from the same process as fortified wine. It may be red, rosé or white. Some people find it easier to drink sweet red wines than traditional wines, stronger and more complex.
Some well-known sweet reds that you can find on the market are fruit wines made from blueberries and strawberries. You can also find sparkling Lambrusco wines from northern Italy, Port wine, of Portuguese origin, and the sweet reds with Monastrell, from Jumilla, Alicante and Malaga, for example.
The vintage drafting process is delayed, so that the grapes are even more mature than usual. When the grape juice is fermented and sugar has turned into alcohol, alcohol is added (5-10%), in order to stop the process of the yeast, preventing a part of the natural sugars from becoming alcohol.
The quality sweet wines are quality liqueur and as such they are regulated by the rules of designations of origin too. To be considered as such a sweet red wine must have more than 250 grams of natural sugars per liter, and its alcohol content is usually from 12% by volume. The sum of rectified alcohol from other distilled wine products will reach between 15% and 22%.

The Spanish wine classification about aging time has been adapted to the 2003 Spanish wine and vineyards law, in order to guarantee a standard quality for the designation of origin. Besides these there are other classifications, about control and characteristics. For example, in order to get the crop year printed on the label, 85% of the wine must have been produced in the same year.
In recent years, multiple studies have shown the benefits of food and wine on the health of people, if consumed with moderation. The presence of certain chemical compounds in the alcohol, associated with a balanced diet (which should be close to the Mediterranean diet) and regular and light exercise, demonstrate, therefore, to be a good way to prevent diseases of all kinds, especially those related to cardiovascular problems, certain cancers, high cholesterol or arthritis.
The wine of Judas (Sangue di Giuda) is called in this way for its intense ruby red color with purple and bright flashes. It is originated from Italia. The legend says that Judas, after betraying Jesus, returned to his land as a sign of repentance and more specifically to the city of Oltrepo. The locals recognized him and tried to kill him. In order to save himself from this death he solved the vineyards’ problems with a miracle. After that the red wine of this region was called Judas or Judas' Blood.
